Nominations are now being taken for the Chamber's Vision
Awards and the prestigious Athena Award recognizing an individual's efforts for
the betterment of women in professional and community service.
The awards are given each year at the Chamber's Annual Gala.
This year the gala will be held at the community center at Beale Air Force
Base. The theme is, "Honoring Our Members
& Our Military." The cost to attend is $50 per person. Sponsor tables are

The Athena Award is open to all residents of Yuba and Sutter
counties. The award recognizes an exceptional individual who has achieved
excellence in her/his business or profession, has served the community in a
meaningful way and has assisted women in their attainment of professional goals
and leadership skills.
It was first presented in 1982 in Lansing, Michigan.
The award is a hand-cast bronze sculpture symbolizing the strength, courage and
wisdom of the recipient. Thank you to Frank M. Booth, Inc. in Marysville for
sponsoring the Athena Award.
The Chamber's Vision Awards recognize businesses and
individuals for their efforts on behalf of the community. The awards include
the Non-Profit/Humanitarian, Civic Organization, Civic Leader, Small Business
and Business of the Year. The business or individual must be a Chamber member
to qualify for a Vision Award.
