The programs at Cambridge start every few weeks, so students can start class right away. There are morning and evening schedules and for more convenience, Cambridge is adding courses that are both online and on-campus. Hands-on training dominates the curriculum at Cambridge. “The best way for students to learn is through active participation, practicing the many skills that will be needed on the job”, says, Director of Education for the College, Sandy Fowler. Students are educated through lecture, lab, and practice as well as externships for each program. Students can choose to take Diploma Programs or Associate Degree Programs. Cambridge offers the only Accredited Associate Degree Program in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting in Sutter County.

Starting on the first day of class all the students, faculty and staff focus on one main goal. That is preparing students for Employment. The students are treated the same way that employers would treat them. There is a major focus on attendance, attitude, work ethic and other soft skills that will help make the students more successful. Students are taught job-seeking and interviewing skills throughout the program. The Job Placement Office also offers placement assistance to graduates. Local employers often call Cambridge Career College for assistance with hiring medical assistants.

Paddy Kearns, the Medical Assisting Head Instructor and Cambridge’s Placement Coordinator said, “Many of our students receive job offers before their program ends. Most students begin working in new jobs within days of graduating from the programs.” Paddy added, “The early hires by healthcare providers like Sutter North, Fremont Rideout Health Group and Regency Urgent Care speaks well of the quality of students we are sending into the workforce.”
