|
Mission: To develop a diverse network of community leaders who individually and collectively, serve as a catalyst for advancing long-term views and action on issues critical to the quality of life in the Yuba-Sutter area.
Developed in 1994, the Chamber's leadership program identifies and encourages the leadership development of individuals interested in expanding their skills by learning more about their community and the importance of civic responsibility. The goal is for Lead Yuba^Sutter graduates to positively impact the counties and cities in which they live. The class, held once monthly from September through June, kicks off with a three-day retreat in September followed by monthly Topic Days devoted to subjects such as Agriculture, Media and Military, Health Care, Sacramento Government Day, Education, Criminal Justice and Public Safety and Leadership Tools. In addition each class chooses an annual project such as creating a school clothes closet, city beautification projects and coordinating a Relay for Life team.
Participants:
- Learn to refine their personal and public leadership style and skills.
- Develop diverse contacts and an excellent communications network.
- Receive recognition for themselves & their organization for their civic activities.
