Why join the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce? |

Whether you own a business, are an employee, or are a community member, you have a stake in the future of Yuba-Sutter. Because the Chamber of Commerce works to promote a climate that will maximize business potential and profitability, your direct involvement in the Chamber can best assure your goals and interests are heard.
You may ask, "But what if I don't have time to participate in events and committees?" While networking events and ribbon cuttings are important for the Chamber to provide, the advantage to the community of having a chamber of commerce is inestimable, and your dues assure its continuance. Its efforts to promote the community, help new businesses get going, and support established businesses who continue to provide jobs and tax revenue dynamically affect the lives of everyone who lives here.
A national study by the Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based market reserach firm, also confirms that positive perception increases among consumers and business owners when a business is identified as simply being a member of the local chamber of commerce. The effect is not dependent on the degree of chamber involvement; it holds true regardless of whether or not the consumer's view is that the company is highly involved (example, sits on the board) in the chamber.
The study also indicated the cause: when a consumer thinks more favorably of a company because the company is a member of its local chamber of commerce, it is because he or she infers that the company is trustworthy, is involved in the community, cares about its customers, is successful, and is a leader in the business community.

Government and business keeping California Competitive! Every Chamber member, with their membership, is enrolled as a member of the local Yuba-Sutter-Colusa Employer Advisory Council (EAC). In partnership with the local Employment Development Department (EDD), the EAC assists employers by advocating local workforce development and training efforts, supporting veterans' stand downs and providing scholarships to local youth.

Small business members of the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce, by virtue of our membership in the U.S. Chamber, are U.S. Chamber members under a program implemented in 2006. Most benefits are redeemed online, and the U.S. Chamber offers various discounts with national companies as well as its incredible leverage for the voice of business in national governmental affairs.
