CHAMBER OFFERING FREE ENHANCED DIRECTORY LISTINGS: The Chamber is now offering all renewing members an enhanced directory listing free of charge on the Chamber web site at www.yubasutterchamber.com. The enhanced listings are a win-win for the Chamber and its members. The listing allows you to give a description of your business in 75 words or less that is posted on the membership directory below your company information. Use words that would commonly be used in internet searches for your business. These key words will increase traffic to the Chamber web site and your listing because the added content will more often lead internet searches to the Chamber site. If you do not have a web site, this is a great way - for free - to get an internet presence. For examples of enhanced directory listings, check out Susie's Massage Therapy, Buttacavoli Industries, Inc. or Sutter Estates Retirement Community. You can download an enhanced directory listing request form on the chamber web site at chamber@yubasutterchamber.com or call the office at 743-6501.This added member benefit is made possible through a year of work that the Chamber staff has put into developing an in-house, staff managed web site and we expect to make additional improvements that are user friendly and member supportive.

CHAMBER REFERRALS:  The Chamber is working with a new program to better inform members when the Chamber makes referrals to members. Chamber volunteer Jill Dettmer is assisting the Chamber in getting this information to Chamber members. The Chamber makes numerous referrals daily but had to work on developing a program that would be consistent in providing this information. Because of privacy concerns we do not ask for personal information from callers and visitors.

"CHAMBER CHALLENGE" SPONSORSHIPS: Comcast Channel 19 will air the next "Chamber Challenge" four times in July and August. The show will air at 7:30 p.m. July 30; 10:30 a.m. July 31; 5 p.m. August 1 and at 10:30 a.m. August 5. Friday, August 8, 11:45 a.m. Legislative Lunch: The Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce has the honor of presenting Congressman Wally Herger with the 2007 Spirit of Enterprise award at this luncheon. This award, from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, recognizes members of Congress who vote with business at least 70% of the time over an entire year.  The luncheon will be held at the Hillcrest Plaza Room, 210 Julie Drive, Yuba City. The cost is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members, with the reservation due by Monday, August 4, 4:00 p.m. Call 743-6501 for reservations.  Reservation obligates payment.  Please, no walk-ins or door-pay at this event.  Thanks to event sponsors Pacific Gas & Electric, Co. and Comcast and table sponsor Yuba-Sutter Disposal, Inc.

Thursday, August 14, 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 2^nd Annual Non-traditional Career Awareness Day for Women.  Sponsored by the Yuba County One Stop Center, women only are invited to meet with Program Representatives for the latest information on Apprenticeship Programs and High Wage Career Opportunities.  The event is free, but space is limited.  Free continental breakfast is included.  Call 749-4850 to reserve your spot.  Event will be held at the Elks Lodge, 920 D St in Marysville.
