DEADLINE FOR LEGISLATIVE LUNCH SERIES: WEDNESDAY AT 4 P.M. IS THE DEADLINE for the first Legislative Lunch on Friday, April 4, at 11:45 a.m. This lunch features Assemblymen Rick Keene and Doug LaMalfa. We all know that this is a difficult time for our economy, locally, throughout California and the nation. The cost of doing business is going up, business owners are being careful with their spending and many pieces of legislation and hours of discussion are going into figuring out how to bolster the economy. Find out what your representatives are doing in Sacramento. Call today for your reservation at 743-6501. The cost is $20 for members, $25 for non-members.

MEMBERSHIP SURVEY: The Chamber has launched a membership survey to solicit your opinions about the Chamber and membership benefits. If you did not receive this survey, due to spam filtering, please let us know and we will send you the survey. E-mail comments and requests to lnicholson@yubasutterchamber.com.

SHOP LOCAL FESTIVAL: Reservations are being taken for the May 10 Shop Local Festival at Raley's Shopping Center at Highway 99 and Bridge Street. The festival introduces Chamber members to area shoppers. The cost for a booth is just $50, with food vendors required to purchase a $30 event-day food permit from Sutter County Health Department. Sponsorships, from $250 to $1,000, are also available and include preferred vendor space and additional promotional opportunities.

CHAMBER CHALLENGE: Sponsorships are available for the "Chamber Challenge" with host Rich Gabel airing twice monthly on Comcast Channel 19. March's show features local attorneys playing the "Esquire Edition" of the game. Sponsorships are $250 and include the hosting of a category with recognition on the show, pre-show publicity and recognition in Business Today, the Chamber's monthly magazine distributed in the Appeal-Democrat to 22,000 subscribers, and in the monthly mailer to 900 Chamber members. Call Chamber Challenge Chair Tina Williams at Express Personnel Services at 671-9202 to sponsor a category.

Friday, April 4, 8:00 a.m., New Member Orientation:  Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce annex, 429 10^th St, Marysville.  Light refreshments served.  No reservation necessary. 

Friday, April 4, 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., Legislative Lunch:  Join Assemblymen Doug LaMalfa and Rick Keene at the Hillcrest Catering Plaza Room.  Registration and payment must be received by Wednesday, April 2.  $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members.

Friday, April 4, 5 p.m. Deadline to reserve advertising space on the new full-size Yuba-Sutter map.  The cost for advertising is $350-$900 depending on size and placement. We print 7,500 copies which are distributed throughout the community and to Beale Air Force Base personnel. Call Mandy Jones at 743-3497 or e-mail her for more information.

Monday, April 14, 5 p.m., Workforce Development Awards deadline:  Monday, April 14, 5 p.m. The Chamber's Workforce Development Program is a unique awards program for students of all ages who are studying to work in the Yuba-Sutter area. The non-academic based awards focus on motivation and desire to work in the Yuba-Sutter community and range from $500 to $2,000.
