Member Notes

Urgent deadline for the November Business Connection Breakfast @ Beale AFB.  Friday, October 19, 4:00 pm is the deadline to register for the November 16th breakfast at Beale.  Due to the security clearance required by the base, late registration or walk-ins are not available. Drivers License # is required at time of registration. Call 743-6501 with your reservation or for more information.

Legislative Lunch Deadline: Wednesday is the deadline for reservations for the Legislative Lunch on Friday at Hillcrest Catering/The Plaza Room. To make a reservation, call 743-6501. Timothy Sandefur, a staff attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation, will be the featured speaker on the topic of “Eminent Domain.” The cost is $20 for members; $25 for non-members. Sandefur’s work includes his book, Cornerstone of Liberty: Property Rights in 21st Century America was published in June, 2006 by the Cato Institute.


He is a contributing editor of Liberty magazine, and has written for many other publications, including The Cato Supreme Court Review, The Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, The Independent Review, Regulation, The Humanist, The American Enterprise, The Washington Times and others.

Government Affairs survey: The Government Affairs Committee is asking members to take a short survey to gauge your opinions on what issues the Chamber should target for political advocacy. The survey is at:

Visitors Guide Advertising: Thursday, November 1, is the deadline to advertise in the Chamber’s Visitors Guide being produced in partnership with the Appeal-Democrat and a-d agency. We print 15,000 copies annually, which are distributed to more than 230 businesses, tourism locations, recruiters and at community events. For more information, call the Appeal-Democrat at 741-2345 and ask about Explore Yuba Sutter.


Restaurant bid: The Chamber is accepting bids from member restaurants to host the annual Ambassador Christmas Party on Monday, December 17, 2007. The Chamber is requesting bids for a casual sit-down or buffet-style dinner for 25-30 people. Please submit your proposal to Membership Director Mandy Jones at mjones@yubasutterchamber.com.

Friday, October 26, 5:30 p.m., Autumn Mixer:  Feather Falls Casino and the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce have partnered up to bring you this fun-filled evening of entertainment, appetizers and prizes!
