A weekly summary of events, activities and information of interest to members of the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce.

MEMBER NOTES:

LEGISLATIVE LUNCH: The third in the series of Legislative Lunches will be held Friday, October 19, at Hillcrest Catering/Plaza Room. The topic is “Eminent Domain” and includes a panel discussion of the pros and cons of using eminent domain and pending legislation regarding the topics. Assemblymen Doug LaMalfa and Rick Keene are scheduled to attend. The cost is $20 for members; $25 for non-members and sponsors tables are available for $250. To make a reservation, call 743-6501.

SHOP LOCAL FESTIVAL: More than 50 vendors have signed up for the Shop Local Festival on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a cost of $50 for non-food vendors; $75 for food vendors. One-day event insurance is needed. Friday, September 28 is the registration deadline to be included in publicity materials. Call 743-6501 to make your reservation. GBOF – Mega thanks: This year’s Great Balls of Fire was the best ever thanks to the generosity of our volunteers, Chamber members and sponsors. We are very grateful to everyone for their support. The generous basket donations resulted in almost 1-3 ticket holders winning a prize. The extra baskets at the end of the evening meant more people than ever could win. This year we had 13 extra baskets and prizes and wanted to acknowledge those Chamber members whose baskets didn’t get reviewed on stage. They include:
