MEMBER NOTES:
ANNUAL DINNER CATERER CHOSEN: Hillcrest Catering/The Plaza Room will again cater the annual Chamber dinner to be held Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Walnut Avenue Center off Highway 99 in Yuba City. The theme is, “Celebrating Our History.” Please save the date. You will be getting information in the October monthly mailer about the event. The dinner will include choices of Filet Mignon topped with classic béarnaise sauce, fresh Atlantic salmon with a caper cream sauce and a vegetarian choice of Stuffed Winter Squash. Please mark your calendar for the annual dinner on January 12, 2008.
GBOF: We’re excited to present Great Balls of Fire, the traditional Business After Hours, Thursday, September 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds. This being a traditional Business After Hours Event, admission is free, food is free, even the fun is free. See you Thursday!
CYBER COMMAND LUNCHEON: The Beale Military Liaison Committee and the Beale Enhancement Team are inviting Chamber members to a luncheon reception for Lt. General Robert J. Elder Jr., Commander 8th Air Force, at 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 21, at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club. Brigadier General H.D. Polumbo Jr. will also speak. Seating is limited. SHOP LOCAL FESTIVAL: More than 50 vendors have signed up for the Shop Local Festival on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a cost of $50 for non-food vendors; $75 for food vendors. One-day event insurance is needed. Friday, September 28th is the registration deadline, so be sure to call 743-6501 to make your reservation. Friday, September 21, 8 am – noon, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training: Do you know what Sexual Harassment really is? Are you in compliance? New guidelines are out and California law (AB1825) requires all organizations with 50 or more employees to provide 2 hours of prevention training every other year to managers and supervisors. Invited speaker Frank Sanderson, California Regional Manager of the Timber Operators Council has over 30 years experience in Risk Management, Human Resources and Industrial Relations. He has conducted nearly 200 classes for over 3,500 managers, supervisors and leads. Certificates of completion will be provided to all participants.
