CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP SURVEY:  The Chamber Membership Survey will close on Friday at 5 p.m. PLEASE, take the survey to help us identify your business needs. Take the survey at:

There will be a drawing for a Great Balls of Fire ticket on Monday for those people who fill out the survey and provide their contact information. 


BUSINESS TODAY SUBMISSIONS:
Friday is the deadline to submit items for Business Today; this is a member benefit. Send e-mails to mjones@yubasutterchamber.com.


MONTHLY MAILER BIDS BEING ACCEPTED:
Friday at 5 p.m. is also the deadline for submitting a bid for the Chamber’s monthly mailer service. The monthly mailer goes out to 900-plus Chamber members in a sealed plastic packet that includes member flyers and the Business Today publication. If your business offers this service and needs information about the bid, please call the Chamber offices at 530-743-6501.


WEBSITE TRACKING

In July, the Chamber’s new Tourism web site had 1,802 visits with 1,541 individuals using the site. They viewed almost 5,700 pages and 80 percent were new visitors to the site. The most popular pages included the events and calendar listings, camping sites and the dining pages. More than 80 percent of the visits come from throughout the United States though visitors have logged in from Australia, Britain, Germany, Canada, Mexico and France as well. Monday, August 20, Deadline to apply for LEAD Yuba^Sutter, the Chamber’s 10-month leadership development program. Tuition is $700. Applications must include a $25 non-refundable application fee. Applications are available at the Chamber or online at www.yubasutterchamber.com.


Friday, August 24, 7:30 am, Business Connection Breakfast: “State of the Chamber” is the August topic.  Invited speakers are your Chamber Committee Chairpersons.  Join us at the Yuba City Racquet Club, 825 Jones Rd, Yuba City.  $12 with your reservation by Wednesday, August 22, 4:00 pm.  Thank you to our 2007 breakfast sponsor, Colusa Casino Resort.

Thursday, September 20, GREAT BALLS OF FIRE: Our annual Business After Hours and fundraiser, this event features area caterers and a mega reverse raffle with a chance to win fun prizes. This year’s caterers include Brisas de Cancun, Kaffe T Latte, Ludy’s Barbecue, Dancing Tomato, Aroma Catering, Hillcrest Catering/The Plaza Room, Jeanne’s Catering and Sopa Thai. OTHER MEMBER COMMUNITY BUSINESS EVENTS:

Thursday, August 16, 9 am – 1 pm, Non-traditional Career Awareness Day for Women sponsored by the Yuba County One Stop Center.  Women are invited to meet with Program Representatives for the latest information on Apprenticeship Programs and High Wage Career Opportunities.  The event is free, but space is limited. Monday, August 20 (the first day of the fall semester) to Thursday, August 23, 10 am – 1 pm, Yuba College Vendor Fair: Vendors are invited to set up tables on campus to demonstrate and promote their product or service.  On the average, there are approximately 3,000 – 5,000 students a day that come to Yuba College for classes.  If you are interested in participating, please contact the Campus Life office at 741-6992 to obtain an application.  Deadline to apply is August 10.  There is no charge to participate.
