The Chinese came to Marysville during the Gold Rush days and by 1854 had erected a Temple, the Bok Kai Mui, where they could house their Gods and go to worship. The temple can only be viewed by appointment, or is open to the public once a year during the Bok Kai Festival generally held in February or March.
